Morgan Wallen Releases Graveyard Whistling

Morgan Wallen Reimagines Nothing But Thieves’ Hit with New Sound and Style

Morgan Wallen is showing off his musical versatility once again, this time with a bold move into alt-rock territory. The 19-time Billboard Music Award winner has officially released a reimagined version of “Graveyard Whistling” by British rock band Nothing But Thieves. The cover dropped June 27 exclusively through Amazon Music as part of their Original series.

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios: A Nod to Rock Legends

Wallen first debuted his haunting cover of Graveyard Whistling back in March 2024 as part of his Abbey Road Sessions, recorded at London’s iconic Studio Two in Abbey Road Studios — the same space where The Beatles crafted much of their legendary catalog. His stripped-down, emotional version quickly gained attention on YouTube, showcasing a raw and atmospheric side to the country star.

Limited Edition Vinyl Release Coming in September

Fans of physical media will be happy to know that Amazon Music plans to release Morgan Wallen’s Graveyard Whistling as a limited-edition 7″ vinyl on September 19. The B-side will feature Wallen’s track “Dark Til Daylight,” adding even more value for collectors and alt-country crossover fans alike.

About the Original: A Song of Emotional Depth

Nothing But Thieves originally released Graveyard Whistling in 2015 on their self-titled debut album. The song delves into themes of love, loss, and emotional scars — fitting perfectly with Wallen’s gravel-toned vocals and introspective performance style. The band also found major success with their 2016 single “Trip Switch,” which topped Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart for two weeks.

Morgan Wallen’s Star Power Keeps Rising

Wallen’s alt-rock experiment comes amid a career-high moment. His latest album, I’m the Problem, continues to dominate, holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for a fifth consecutive week. The project also broke Amazon Music’s record for the most-streamed country album on its release day, May 16.

Meanwhile, Morgan Wallen’s hit collaboration with Tate McRae, “What I Want,” sits atop the Hot Country Songs chart for the fifth straight week.

Stadium Tour Success and Celebrity Appearances

Morgan Wallen is currently headlining his massive I’m The Problem Tour, which kicked off with two sold-out shows at Houston’s NRG Stadium on June 20–21. The star-studded event included surprise appearances from Drake, Roger Clemens, Andre Johnson, and local legend Mattress Mack.

His next tour stop takes him to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, for back-to-back shows on June 28–29, continuing his run as one of the hottest live acts in music today.

Morgan Wallen Continues to Expand His Sound and Influence

Wallen’s dive into alternative rock is a testament to his creative evolution. Whether he’s dominating the country charts or surprising fans with moody covers, his ability to blend genres while staying authentic keeps him at the top of the game.
