Kip Moore Drops Defiant New Anthem “Levee”

Kip Moore is back with a gritty new rock-infused single. Following his 2025 project Solitary Tracks—which marked his sixth studio album and his debut under Virgin Music Group—Moore has unleashed a raucous and rebellious new track titled “Levee.”

Here is a breakdown of the new release, the message behind it, and Moore’s massive global tour plans.

The Meaning Behind “Levee”

Co-written by Moore alongside Luke Preston and Hank Born, “Levee” serves as a direct commentary on the divisive climate of the modern world. Moore explained that the song was born out of deep frustration with society’s current “loudness,” constant bickering, and lack of grace.

Tired of an era where people are obsessed with being the “beacon of truth,” Moore uses the track to remind listeners that everyone is flawed. The aggressive opening verse, which Moore noted came out of him “in seconds as a scream,” perfectly captures this mounting tension:

“I can hear the rumble comin’ from the sky / I can see the train comin’ straight down the line / I can taste the venom in the air tonight / I can feel my bones fillin’ up with fire.”

Throughout the lyrics, he makes it clear he is not playing the victim, nor is he acting as a mouthpiece for anyone else, firmly stating he “ain’t on the bankroll of any politician.”

Gritty Production and Visuals

To capture the raucous energy of the lyrics, Moore co-produced the track with Andrew DeRoberts. The song leans heavily into Moore’s signature gritty sound and features elevated guest vocals from acclaimed singer-songwriter Hillary Lindsey.

Matching the defiant tone of the music, the official music video, directed by PJ Brown, features Moore traversing a stark, barren southwestern landscape.

The Reason To Believe World Tour

In addition to dropping “Levee,” Moore announced an extensive run of dates for his Reason To Believe world tour. Taking his music global, the tour will hit the US, UK, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Depending on the city, fans will be able to catch Moore headlining, playing festivals, opening arena shows for Cody Johnson, hitting the road with Jackson Dean, or on a co-headlining run with Billy Currington.
