Dive Bar – Review
“Dive Bar” by Johnny Gates is a soulful track that delves into themes of heartache and solace found in dimly lit, intimate venues. Built upon plucked guitar chords, the song paints a vivid picture of seeking refuge in the familiar comfort of a dive bar. Gates’ emotive vocals, combined with the track’s smooth, bittersweet melody, create a haunting atmosphere that lingers with the listener. Notably, “Dive Bar” was among the first songs Gates crafted during his solo journey, helping to define the sound of his debut EP.
