Dolly Parton & Mötley Crüe – “Home Sweet Home”

The country legend Dolly Parton has collaborated with the hair metal band Mötley Crüe in a powerful new version of their classic 1985 anthem “Home Sweet Home”. The result? A blend of genres that works perfectly and gives us the best of both worlds, The fresh take marks a heartfelt celebration of the song’s 40th anniversary.

Home Sweet Home meets Nashville

An ideal tune for fans of both country and rock, a blend of broadway and the sunset strip.. “Home Sweet Home” was already a fan favourite, but Dolly’s addition brings a new depth. Her unmistakable vocals soften the edges just enough to turn the track into something warmer, without losing its gritty edge. This new cut is part of the Crüe’s 40th Anniversary compilation album From The Beginning, due out September 12, and it’s being used to raise funds for Covenant House, helping homeless and at-risk youth. It’s a full-circle move for a band that once lived in chaos and a woman who has always found a way to ground it all in heart.

Dolly’s Rock Era Continues

This latest release follows Dolly’s bold exploration into the rock world with her 2023 album Rockstar, which featured collaborations with legends like Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Joan Jett. It was a project that proved she’s not just visiting the genre, she’s owning it. By stepping onto Mötley Crüe’s turf with “Home Sweet Home,” Dolly continues to blur the lines between country tradition and rock attitude, showing once again that her voice  both literally and artistically transcends any one label. This isn’t a one-off novelty – it’s part of a wider creative chapter that sees Dolly stretching into new sounds while staying grounded in authenticity.

This version of “Home Sweet Home” is more than just a 40th-anniversary rework, it’s a reminder that timeless songs and iconic voices never really age. Whether you grew up blasting Crüe or line dancing to Dolly, this unlikely pairing finds a meeting point in heart, harmony, and a little rock-and-roll grit.

Stream it now and experience a collaboration that’s as powerful as it is unexpected, a meeting of two icons that proves great music doesn’t need a genre, just soul.

Home Sweet Home lyrics:

You know I’m a dreamer
But my heart’s of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn’t come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn’t mean they were always wrong

Just take this song
And you’ll never feel left all alone
Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I’m coming off this long and winding road

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home

You know that I’ve seen
Too many romantic dreams
Up in lights, falling off the silver screen
My heart’s like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometime nothing keeps me together at the seams

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I’m on my way
Just set me free
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Home sweet home

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home
Yeah, I’m on my way
Just set me free
Home sweet home
