A Song To Sing – Miranda Lambert & Chris Stapleton
Country music fans, rejoice, two of the genre’s most powerful voices, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert, have finally teamed up for their long-anticipated first duet, “A Song To Sing.” The result? A soul-drenched, disco-kissed ballad that blends nostalgia with raw emotional honesty.
A Soulful Collaboration Between Country Icons
“A Song To Sing” marks the first-ever recorded duet between Stapleton and Lambert, but it plays like a timeless classic. Co-written with songwriting veterans Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor, the track explores the bittersweet balance between life on the road and love at home. Its lyrics resonate deeply with artists who pour their hearts into their craft while navigating relationships in the spotlight.
“Chris understands this emotion from the inside out,” Lambert shared in a press statement, referencing the emotional weight the song carries. “To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings… is next level.”
A Disco-Inspired Departure That Works
At first listen, the groove of “A Song To Sing” may catch fans by surprise, it leans into a disco-style ballad that evokes the lush soundscapes of the early 1980s. Think Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream” or Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s “Guilty.” Yet it never feels forced. Instead, the vintage vibe enhances the emotional weight of the lyrics and gives both artists room to shine.
While Chris Stapleton is best known for his gritty blend of Southern rock and blues, this isn’t as far a leap as it seems. And for Miranda Lambert, disco is familiar ground, in 2021, she covered the Bee Gees’ “Jive Talkin’” for Barry Gibb’s Greenfields album, bridging country with pop-soul seamlessly.
Expanding the Boundaries of Country Music
“A Song To Sing” continues a growing trend of genre fusion in country music, with Lambert and Stapleton proving that country can be both authentic and adventurous. The track delivers on romance, vulnerability, and a deep respect for the craft, with just enough shimmer to make it unforgettable.
As Barry Gibb once noted, “There’s such a close link between country music and R&B music.” That connection is on full display here, and it’s thrilling to witness two modern legends tap into that shared lineage.
Final Thoughts: A Must-Hear Duet with Staying Power
With “A Song To Sing,” Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have delivered more than a duet, they’ve created a moment. It’s a rare blend of emotional authenticity and genre-blending creativity that will leave fans wanting more.
Whether you’re a long-time fan of traditional country or someone who appreciates the soulful edge both artists bring, this track is a must-listen. Expect to hear it on playlists and radio charts for months to come.
Chris Stapleton & Miranda Lambert – A Song To Sing: Lyrics
After all this time
Runnin’ up and down the roads, boulevards, and broken dreams
All the in-betweens, every single high and low
I want you to know
You are a part of me
Baby, you’re the heart of me
Together, we can write a song to sing
And, in that melody
Baby, you’re the harmony that you just can’t find anywhere
I love the way you goes
When I hear the melody, I’mma find my way back home to you
I know with every note, you and I are meant to be
Sounds so good to me
You are a part of mе
Baby, you’re the heart of mе
Together, we can write a song to sing
And, in that melody
Baby, you’re the harmony that you just can’t find anywhere
And, when this world
Wants to lay everything heavy on our shoulders
I’ll stay with you, side by side
Forever and a day
You are a part of me
Baby, you’re the heart of me
Together, we can write a song to sing
And, in that melody
Baby, you’re the harmony that you just can’t find anywhere
You are a part of me (Baby, you’re the harmony; Baby, you’re a part of me)
Together, we can write a song to sing
And, in that melody
Baby, you’re the harmony that you just can’t find anywhere
That you just can’t find anywhere

I absolutely love this song. The tone of their voices are perfect. Perfect harmony!! I love the beat of this song, something you don’t hear anymore and it’s great. A big Thank you to all who wrote this beautiful song. It’s different, it’s upbeat, it’s loving, it’s soulful, and much more. Chris & Miranda sang it well. Love them both. Big fan of both. Great job guys.
Too disco/pop. Not for me. Two great country music singers, as they call themselves, should sing traditional country. They would be the perfect match for ole time country music. What a shame!
That is an awesome duet!! They sound spectacular together! I hope they find more songs to sing together!
Beautiful!! These two sound so good together!! Love it!!
I loved. Easy to listen to. Both voices are wonderful.

Best duet in a long time. I played over and over.
Love it 🥰🥰🥰
I absolutely love this song. It takes me back to when I first met my husband of 40+ yrs. I hope they continue to make great music together.
