Lauren Watkins on New Single ‘I’ll Get Through It’

Lauren Watkins chats to CountryLine at CMA fest 2025, telling us us the chilly story that inspired her new single ‘I’ll Get Through It’. We also hear about her upcoming time on the road with Riley Green, new music and what famous faces would make up her Country Mount Rushmore.

Lauren Watkins: Behind The Mic

Lauren Watkins is emerging as one of Nashville’s most authentic voices. Born and raised just outside “Guitar Town,” she soaked in outlaw country legends like Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline before blending those roots with contemporary influences such as Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Chris Stapleton.

After honing her craft at Ole Miss and sharing acoustic clips online, Lauren caught the attention of keen industry eyes, including songwriter Rodney Clawson and label imprint Songs & Daughters, leading to her signing with Big Loud Records.

Her 2024 full-length debut, The Heartbroken Record, earned acclaim, Stereogum ranked it among the Top 10 Country Albums of the year, while earlier EPs like Introducing: Lauren Watkins established her barstool charm and lyrical honesty. Touring with Morgan Wallen, Riley Green, Zach Top, and Lainey Wilson bolstered her reputation as a compelling live act.

“I’ll Get Through It” – Lauren Watkins’s Raw New Single

Released on May 30, 2025, “I’ll Get Through It” is Watkins’s latest anthem of resilience. Co-written with Brett and Brad Warren and produced alongside Will Bundy, the track balances raw vocals and razor‑sharp lyrics to confront heartbreak head-on. An unapologetic anthem, it peppers gritty moments – tossing flowers, bending rules – all tied together with a “sticky chorus melody” that came to life during a beachside writing session.

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Well, I gave you all I had to give ’til I hit the wall
And you put your fist through it
I called up mama ugly cryin’
She said, “Keep on tryin’, and you’ll get through it”
Think I know how to do it

[Chorus]
I’ll get through this bottle, through this night
Through the bad in your goodbye
Through those heartbreak jukebox songs
Through your cheap shot did me wrongs
I got a hangover in store
But just like you walkin’ out that door
I’ll get through it, I’ll get through it

[Verse 2]
Well, you tried to come back, say you changed
But I took that grocery store bouquet, and I threw it
My come undone and bein’ a wreck
Just like all of your BS

[Chorus]
I’ll get through this bottle, through this night
Through the bad in your goodbye
Through those heartbreak jukеbox songs
Through your cheap shot did me wrongs
I got a hangover in storе
But just like you walkin’ out that door
I’ll get through it, yeah, I’ll get through it

[Bridge]
I’ll get through it, I know how to do it
Yeah, I’ll get through it, I know how to do it

[Chorus]
I’ll get through this bottle, through this night
Through the bad in your goodbye
Through those heartbreak jukebox songs
Through your cheap shot did me wrongs
I got a hangover in store
But just like you walkin’ out that door
I’ll get through it, yeah, I’ll get through it

[Outro]
I’ll get through it
I’ll get through it
