Emily Ann Roberts Is Heading To The UK
Emily Ann Roberts is gearing up for a massive year. During a recent off-site interview with CountryLine TV in East Nashville, the rising country star sat down for a makeshift tea party to discuss her upcoming international debut, her new single “Whipped,” and her plans for a highly anticipated sophomore album.
Here is everything Roberts shared about taking her authentic East Tennessee sound to the global stage.
Making Her C2C Festival Debut
For years, Roberts has dreamed of playing the Country to Country (C2C) festival in the UK. In 2026, that dream is finally becoming a reality. She is bringing her husband along for the trip and has been planning her outfits for weeks.
When asked about preparing for an international audience, Roberts kept her strategy simple. She plans to bring her authentic self to the stage. Accompanied by her guitar and her fiddle player, she is ready to deliver the traditional East Tennessee sound she was raised on.
Her only real concern is the language barrier. Roberts joked that she hopes the UK fans will be able to look past her strong Southern drawl and understand what she is saying. On the flip side, she is incredibly excited to interact with the local fans, noting that she finds British and Scottish accents sophisticated and fascinating.
The Story Behind “Whipped”
Fans attending C2C can definitely expect to hear her newest release, “Whipped,” in the setlist. The upbeat track is a fun, slightly dramatized take on her relationship with her husband.
Roberts explained that while she could easily write a simple song about how much her husband makes her happy, it is far more fun to lean into the storytelling drama and call him “whipped.” The song praises a man who knows how to treat a woman, highlighting practical things like fixing a broken down car or carrying 25 wardrobe changes through an airport.
Touring with Cody Johnson and a European Return
The C2C festival is just the beginning of a busy touring schedule. Roberts is currently out on the road warming up the stage for Cody Johnson. She praised Johnson as being “country to the bone” and cited him as a major musical inspiration, calling the tour a literal dream come true.
European fans who miss her at C2C will not have to wait long to see her again. Roberts announced that she is already scheduled to return to Europe for more shows in October and November of this year.
A “Sampler Platter” Sophomore Album
Roberts has been writing constantly since the release of her debut album, Can’t Hide Country, and her recent Memory Lane EP. She is currently finishing up her second full length album and believes it features the best music she has ever created.
When discussing the vibe of the upcoming record, she described it as a “sampler platter.” While she loves writing about her own happy marriage, she knows that is not the reality for everyone listening. To ensure her music remains relatable, the new project will feature a mix of heartbreak anthems, party songs, and hopeful tracks that reflect the full spectrum of human emotion.
The Great English Tea Taste Test
To cap off the interview, the CountryLine TV host had Roberts participate in a traditional English tea tasting to prepare her for the UK. They tried a cup of English breakfast tea completely plain, without sugar or milk.
The verdict was swift and hilarious. Roberts immediately noted that it tasted like “dirty water” and earth. After deciding it was not for her, she joked that she plans to bring a large bottle of honey with her to England to share with her new friends across the pond.
