YOU HAD TO BE THERE – MEGAN MORONEY ROCKS NASHVILLE
CMA award-winner and Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records recording artist Megan Moroney brought her radiant Cloud 9 tour to Bridgestone arena in Nashville for two sold-out shows last weekend. Featuring her stiletto cowboy boots, pink ball gown, and cheeky mirror quotes, Moroney dazzled audiences with hits from her third studio album.
Fan-favorites including “Stupid,” “Medicine,” and “Wedding Dress” had fans screaming every word, with Moroney sprinkling in her older tracks throughout the electrifying two hour set. Her set was decked out in pink, whether it was the dreamy clouds hanging overhead or Moroney launched in the air with her guitar in a landscaped window scene.
She is the essence of a powerhouse vocalist and a true entertainer, belting out her “emo cowgirl” era songs including “Tennessee Orange,” “Am I Okay,” and “6 Months Later,” and telling a passionate story of a girl going through life in her twenties. It’s no wonder Moroney’s fans feel like they are in a group therapy session at her shows, because there’s a wide range of emotions that come in to play over the course of a few hours.
Moroney surprised crowds both nights, bringing out fellow country stars Dan & Shay, Lady A, and Kenny Chesney onstage for special collaborations, including her and Chesney’s smash hit “You Had To Be There.”
Moroney will close out the North American run of the Cloud 9 tour this Thursday, August 27, in Denver, Colorado. She then heads to Oslo, Norway, to kick off a limited run of dates overseas, with stops in Germany, The Netherlands, France, and United Kingdom. See remaining dates of the Cloud 9 tour below.
