WE’RE STILL “CHOOSIN’ TEXAS” (and always will)

Country music hottest female star, Ella Langley, has officially surpassed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her history-breaking hit, “Choosin’ Texas.” The undeniably catchy track has achieved 23 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the chart, previously beating Carey’s iconic Christmas track at 22 weeks. This makes it the longest-running No. 1 single ever recorded in the U.S.
“Choosin’ Texas” debuted on the Hot 100 chart last November, which quickly defined country radio and earned several awards throughout last year. Written by Langley, Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, the smash-hit was originally released on October 17, and is weeks away from reaching its year anniversary and likely many more awards.
She’s now in the company of other pop sensations like Carey, including Shaboozey, Lil Nas X, Morgan Wallen and Justin Bieber, whose singles have previously been on the Hot 100 for 16+ weeks.
Langley’s publicly explained that she’s unsure why everyone clung to this song, but is grateful they have. It’s been the song of the summer, the party anthem, line dancing bop, and recently awarded the NSAI’s “Song of the Year” for 2026.
