ONE TO WATCH: BLAKE PROEHL

This week’s “One To Watch” is Blake Proehl! The former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver turned MCA/UMG recording artist will release his debut EP, Hearts Don’t Break, October 2, featuring his latest single “If He Ain’t Up.” Born in North Carolina, Proehl was not consistently surrounded by music growing up, discovering his love for songwriting when a tragic knee injury forced him to take time off the field.

A guitar and some free time was all it took, as Proehl took off on social media with his sultry sound and memorable lyrics. He then made a remarkable run on American Idol, and played his first CMA Fest in Nashville this summer. Additionally, he earned a record deal with MCA/UMG, and continues to skyrocket.

The 27-year-old is currently on the road, opening for Russell Dickerson, Niko Moon, and Jake Owen.
