Morgan Wallen Dominates 2025
The results are in, and Morgan Wallen has officially cemented his status as the defining artist of the year. Following a year of shattered streaming records and chart dominance, Billboard has crowned the country superstar as the #1 All-Genre Top Artist of 2025.
This accolade marks a major milestone in music history. Wallen is the first country artist to claim the all-genre top spot since Taylor Swift in 2009. Furthermore, he joins an exclusive club as only the second male country artist ever to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of Garth Brooks, who last held the title back in 1993.
Morgan Wallen Beats Global Pop Giants
The competition for the 2025 title was fierce. To secure the #1 rank, Wallen outperformed some of the music industry’s most massive global figures, including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and Super Bowl halftime headliner Bad Bunny.
While Wallen has been a commercial juggernaut since the release of Dangerous: The Double Album, 2025 proved to be his most successful year to date. Beyond the Billboard title, he swept year-end lists across the board, including:
- iHeart Radio: Top Country Artist of 2025.
- Apple Music: Most-listened-to album globally.
- Spotify: #1 most-listened-to album in the U.S.
I’m The Problem Breaks Billboard Chart Records
Wallen’s victory was largely fueled by his blockbuster 2025 album, I’m The Problem. The release didn’t just top the charts; it rewrote the history books.
Upon the album’s debut, Morgan Wallen broke his own previous record for the most songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week, landing a staggering 37 tracks on the chart simultaneously. He also solidified his longevity, becoming the first artist in history to have three consecutive albums spend at least 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200.
“What I Want” and Wallen’s Singles Dominance
The Sneedville native was ubiquitous on the airwaves this year. In total, Wallen charted 41 separate entries on the Hot 100 in 2025—the most of any artist.
Nine of those tracks reached the Top 10, led by his massive collaboration with Tate McRae, “What I Want.” This track helped Wallen become the first solo act in history to score multiple 20-week #1 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart. Other fan-favorite hits driving his numbers included “Just In Case,” “I Got Better,” and the title track “I’m The Problem.”
A Near-Perfect Sweep
Despite his overwhelming success as the Top Artist, Wallen narrowly missed out on having the #1 album of the year. I’m The Problem finished the year at #2, sitting just behind Taylor Swift’s Life A Show Girl, which saw a significant boost from multiple physical vinyl variants.
However, the sheer volume of Wallen’s accolades is undeniable. In addition to Top Artist, he took home over a dozen #1 spots on Billboard’s year-end wrap-up.
