Check out Morgan Wallen’s recently released teaser for the song Super Man. A heart-felt track all about his son, Indigo Wilder. In a candid instagram post the star shared:

“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it. Here is a clip, It’s called “Superman”.“

From Small-town To Country Sensation:

Morgan Wallen’s journey from a small-town boy to a country music sensation is one worth scrolling for… buckle up!

Born on May 13, 1993, in Sneedville, Tennessee, Wallen’s early life was steeped in music and faith… a common trait amongst the genre’s biggest stars to this day. His father, a Southern Baptist pastor, introduced him to a diverse range of musical genres, from classic rock to gospel, while his mother nurtured his love for hymns. Who knew this rich musical upbringing would lay the bricks for Wallens meteoric rise in the world of country music.

From Singing Show To Stardom

In the early days, his aspirations swayed towards sports, but despite being a promising pitcher in baseball, a high school injury saw his sporting dreams come crashing down. Enter: Plan B, that all country fans worldwide are forever grateful for! This redirection allowed him to work on his vocal skills and began performing locally, finally mustering up the confidence and stage presence to audition for the sixth season of ‘The Voice’ in 2014.

It was on this very audition that his burgeoning talent caught the attention of national audiences where Shakira turned her big red chair around in nothing short of 5 seconds, praising his unique gritty tone and stating “It’s as manly as it gets.” And so the rise to stardom begins, despite leaving the show earlier than anticipated, it was a significant stepping stone into the country music spotlight!

The move from Sneedville to Nashville followed his stint on ‘The Voice’, where else was a boy and a country music dream to go? Just a couple years later, at just 22-years of age, Wallen signed with Big Loud Records, marking a significant milestone in his career. His debut single shortly followed titled “The Way I Talk,” which showcased his authentic country sound and resonated with fans all over. The success of his single was further amplified with the release of his debut studio album, “If I Know Me,” in 2018. The album featured chart-topping hits like “Up Down,” a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, and the fan-favourite “Whiskey Glasses,” solidifying Wallen’s place in the country music echelon. To this day, Whiskey Glasses has been streamed over 933 million times on Spotify alone… not bad for a boy from a town with just 1300 people!!

Hitting The Mainstream

Wallen’s follow-up album, “Dangerous: The Double Album,” released in January 2021, catapulted him to new heights… The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with tracks like “7 Summers” and “Wasted on You” not only topping country charts but also making significant inroads into mainstream music, reflecting Wallen’s broad appeal.

But those who rise to stardom quick, don’t tend to climb without struggles. In early 2021, he faced significant backlash due to a leaked video capturing him using a racial slur. The incident led to widespread criticism, temporary suspension from his record label, and removal from major radio stations and streaming platforms. Wallen issued public apologies, took responsibility for his actions, and sought to educate himself, working towards personal growth and understanding.

Goodbye Mullet Hello Collaborations

Back to the music and it was in 2023 when Wallen released his third studio album, “One Thing at a Time,” which further cemented his status as a country music powerhouse. The album’s lead single, “Last Night,” achieved remarkable success, topping both country and mainstream charts, becoming the first ever song to reach 1 billion streams in just 12 months. This same period also saw him embarking on the sold out “One Night at a Time World Tour,” connecting with fans across the globe and showcasing his dynamic stage presence. Him shaving his iconic mullet was also talk of the town in 2023…

2024 brought both accolades and challenges – Wallen’s collaboration with Post Malone on the track “I Had Some Help” earned nominations for Song, Single, Musical Event, and Music Video of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards. While the song didn’t secure wins in these categories, Wallen’s unwavering dedication to his craft was highly recognised when he was honoured with the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award, a true testament to his impact on the genre.

Another personal hurdle came when he found himself in court for throwing a chair from a high story honky-tonk in Broadway, Nashville… but after sharing a heartfelt apology to the world on instagram, his musical evolution continued. In early 2025 he aptly released a new track, ‘I’m The Problem’ whilst a full album beckons on the horizon. The imminent album, addresses his past mistakes and in turn, highlight shis growth as an individual, a dad, and an artist.

As of February 2025, Wallen’s momentum shows no signs of slowing as he embarks on the “I’m the Problem” stadium tour, bringing his music to fans in some of the largest venues across North America, featuring country music legends like Miranda Lambert and Brooks & Dunn, plus rising stars in Ella Langley and Anne Wilson.
