Megan Moroney and Jamey Johnson Unite for ‘MOJO’ Benefit Concert in Alabama

Two of country music’s most compelling storytellers are joining forces to kick off 2026 with a massive charitable effort. It was announced this morning that Megan Moroney and Jamey Johnson will co-headline a special one-night-only event titled the MOJO Benefit Concert.

Set to take place in Birmingham, Alabama, the intimate show will bring the “Tennessee Orange” singer and the “In Color” legend together on January 15th at The Fennec.

The Meaning Behind ‘MOJO’

The event’s title is a clever nod to the headliners, combining the first two letters of their last names (Moroney and Johnson).

While fans can expect individual sets featuring their biggest hits, the collaboration teases on-stage reunions and unique performances. This isn’t the first time the pair have crossed paths; Jamey Johnson has been a longtime champion of Moroney’s career. He invited her to join his What A View Tour back in 2022 and, alongside Deana Carter, famously issued the invitation for Moroney’s Grand Ole Opry debut in 2023.

Supporting Two Vital Causes

The concert isn’t just about the music; it’s about giving back. All proceeds from the evening will be split between the artists’ respective non-profit organizations:

• The Give It Away Foundation: Launched by Jamey and his wife, Brittney Johnson, earlier this year. Named after the hit song Johnson co-wrote for George Strait, the foundation supports communities in crisis and various charitable organizations.
• The Megan Moroney Foundation: Moroney’s organization is dedicated to promoting mental well-being and funding initiatives that combat bullying.

Brittney Johnson highlighted the personal nature of the event, stating that a shared passion for volunteer work and “a love for helping people” has been a cornerstone of her relationship with the country star.

Megan Moroney Prepares for Massive 2026 Tour

The Birmingham show will serve as a warm-up for Megan Moroney before she embarks on the biggest year of her career. Following the benefit concert, Moroney will release her highly anticipated third studio album, Cloud 9, on February 20th.

Shortly after the album drops, she will launch her extensive Cloud 9 Tour, hitting major arenas across the United States and Europe.
