McCoy Moore Set For Grand Ole Opry Debut After Surprise Invite From HARDY

For any country artist, there are big moments — and then there’s stepping onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time.

For rising singer-songwriter McCoy Moore, that moment is coming fast. He’s officially set to make his Opry debut on May 26, just days after the release of his debut album Sunshine State.

And the way it all came together feels very country.

The invite came as a surprise from HARDY, who brought Moore out on stage during a stop on the COUNTRY! COUNTRY! Tour – delivering the news in front of a live crowd on Moore’s 25th birthday. One of those moments you can’t really script.

Moore didn’t overcomplicate it either.

“All I really know to say is thank you,” he shared. “This is the biggest honor.”

A Breakthrough Year Is Already Underway

The Opry debut lands right in the middle of what’s shaping up to be a breakout year.

Moore’s debut album Sunshine State drops May 22, and early signs suggest it leans into a mix of modern country and something a little more rooted. Think warm production, steel guitar running underneath it, and songwriting that doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than honest.

He’s co-written almost the entire record, working alongside producer Will Bundy – known for shaping hits with artists like Riley Green and Ella Langley — which gives the project a solid foundation heading in.

There’s also a clear sense of identity running through it. The Florida influence, the laid-back feel, the balance between nostalgia and something current — it all feels intentional without being forced.

From Fan To Festival Stage

There’s something full-circle about where Moore is right now.

He recently made his debut at Tortuga Music Festival – a festival he used to attend as a fan growing up in Florida. Now, he’s stepping onto those same stages, with his name starting to show up on more and more lineups.

Between opening for HARDY, upcoming appearances at CMA Fest and Summerfest, and now an Opry debut, everything feels like it’s moving quickly – but not rushed.

One Of Those Moments That Still Means Something

The Grand Ole Opry still carries weight in a way that not much else does in country music.

And for an artist at this stage, it’s not just another milestone – it’s one of the few moments that still feels genuinely significant.

For McCoy Moore, it looks like that moment is arriving right on time.
