Lainey Wilson: Access All Areas

Behind The Mic: A Farmers Daughter

Lainey Denay Wilson, born on May 19, 1992, in Baskin, Louisiana, has emerged as a formidable force in country music… bringing the term ‘American Dream’ to life, Nashville style.

Born and raised in a town with fewer than 300 residents, her upbringing was steeped in the values of hard work, a trait that shows no sign of slowing down for the queen of bell bottoms. Her father was a fifth generation farmer who simultaneously introduced her to the guitar and the wild and free spirit of horses… a slice of her upbringing that rings through her songs to this day.

The Road To Nashville: Small Town To Stadiums

At 19 years young, the Southern belle relocated to the home of country music to pursue her passion for performing after performing publicly all through her younger years. But as ever, a move to Nashville and an unbelievable talent isn’t always a one-way ticket to success.

Relentlessly, in true country girl spirit, she released a self-titled debut album in 2014, followed by Tougher two years later, and despite limited commercial success, they showcased her distinctive blend of traditional country with a modern flair.

Rising Star: From Yellowstone To Song Of The Year

Her breakthrough single, a moment long awaited came in 2020, alongside a pivotal feature in the TV series, ‘Yellowstone’, which expanded her reach and solidified her presence in the media industry. “Things a Man Oughta Know”, climbed to number one on the American country songs chart, earning her the ACM Song of the Year award in 2021.

Wilson’s 2022 album, “Bell Bottom Country,” further cemented her status as a rising star – with the record winning her both CMA and ACM Album of the year awards, featuring adored hits like “Heart Like a Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine.” This all formed part of her Whirlwind couple of years from Yellowstone to stadium-show sell out, gaining her a huge fan base in all corners of the world. Her authentic storytelling and soulful vocals resonated with fans and critics alike, leading to entertainer of the year at the CMA awards in 2023, followed by her first Grammy win for Best Country Album in 2024.

In The Opry Circle: Country’s Highest Honour

A very special moment for the country superstar came in June of 2024, when she stepped inside ‘the circle’ to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry – by Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks. Wilson spoke of the iconic moment: “I dreamed about this right here. I dreamed about what song I would play in the circle if I got the opportunity” – describing it as a full circle career evolution.
