What to Expect from Jon Pardi’s Halftime Show
If you know Pardi, you know the playbook: roaring guitars, a dance-floor-ready backbeat, and a good-time spirit built for 11 a.m. CT television and a title-tilt crowd. With both university marching bands on the field, expect extra brass-and-drumline punch and a few stadium-sized surprises that nod to college football pageantry. The Big 12’s “innovation + tradition” ethos is tailor-made for Pardi’s brand of modern honky-tonk.
The Pardi Era: Honkytonk Hollywood and a Top-10 Sprint
Fresh off his fifth studio album, Honkytonk Hollywood, Pardi continues to modernize honky-tonk without losing the neon-glow twang that made him a fan favorite. He’s stacked six No. 1 singles to date, and his current Top 10 lead single “Friday Night Heartbreaker” is built for weekend kickoffs and championship energy. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a Saturday that starts with coffee and ends with confetti.
Football on the Resume: Why the Big 12 Stage Fits
Pardi’s name is already woven into the sport: he’s performed around College Football Playoff festivities, premiered his “Night Shift” video on ESPN as a pre-kickoff lead-in, and even announced an NFL Draft pick for his beloved San Francisco 49ers. A Big 12 title-game halftime, inside the NFL’s grandest dome, is the next logical yard marker.
