Dolly Parton Isn’t Dead Yet!

After weeks of speculation about her health, Dolly Parton is setting the record straight. The country icon posted a new video message to fans, confirming that while she’s taking time to recover and stay close to home for treatments, she’s far from finished.

Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Amid Health Concerns

In late September, Parton announced she would postpone her Las Vegas residency, “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” citing unspecified health challenges. The residency, originally scheduled for December at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, would have marked her first extended run since 2016’s Pure & Simple Tour.

“I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concert… I want to be at my best for you.”

The 79-year-old explained she will undergo minor procedures and needs recovery time before returning to the stage. True to her humor, Parton quipped that it wasn’t her “usual trip to the plastic surgeon” but rather her “100,000-mile check-up.”

She told fans she’s still working from Nashville, adding that she believes God is simply telling her to slow down, not stop.

Family Requests Spark Widespread Health Rumors

Concern grew after Dolly’s sister, Freida Parton, shared a Facebook post asking fans to pray for her. She wrote about staying up all night praying for her big sister and encouraged “prayer warriors” to join her in lifting Dolly’s spirits.

“She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know she’s going to be just fine.”

Freida later clarified she didn’t mean to alarm anyone and was simply being “a little sister asking for prayers.” Another sister, Stella Parton, jumped in to defend the family’s privacy, reminding fans that Dolly would speak when she was ready.

The sisters’ posts set off waves of speculation online, leading many to assume Dolly’s condition was serious.

Dolly Parton Addresses Fans Directly: “Do I Look Sick to You?”

On October 8, Dolly took to social media to address the rumors herself, posting a video filmed from the Grand Ole Opry set. Dressed in a classic western outfit, she reassured fans she’s doing fine, just slowing down to take care of herself after years of nonstop work.

“Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!”

Dolly explained she’s receiving treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and staying close to home for appointments. She also revealed that neglecting her health while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, had caught up with her, but nothing she’s facing is life-threatening.

As always, she brought levity to the situation, laughing about AI-generated images showing Reba McEntire by her “deathbed.”

“They had Reba at my deathbed, and we both looked like we need to be buried!”

“God’s Not Done With Me Yet”

The beloved entertainer closed her video with her trademark mix of faith and humor, thanking fans for their concern but assuring them she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

“I’m not ready to die yet! I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working.”

Despite recent cancellations, Dolly emphasized she’s still active behind the scenes, writing, recording, and working on future projects from Nashville.

Her message not only eased fan concern but reminded everyone why she remains the most beloved woman in country music: resilient, warm, and always in on the joke.
