Country Duets We Actually Want To See (and might not stop thinking about)

Country music’s always had a thing for duets – the right two voices can make a song feel twice as big without overcomplicating it. But lately, it feels like we’re either getting the obvious pairings or ones that don’t really leave much of a mark.

So we went back and forth on this and landed on five that actually feel exciting. Not just big names thrown together, but ones that would either sound genuinely great or be too interesting not to work.

Ashley McBryde x Kelly Clarkson

This one feels like it should already exist. Ashley brings that grit and edge, Kelly brings the power, and neither of them is the type to hold anything back. If they landed on the right song – something raw, a little emotional, not overproduced – it could easily turn into one of those standout performances people keep coming back to. Vocally, it’d be hard to top.

Elton John x Dolly Parton

Honestly, this is just one of those “why hasn’t this happened yet?” moments. Dolly’s already shown she can sit in pretty much any space musically, and Elton’s done more than enough across genres to make this feel natural rather than gimmicky. It’d probably lean big, maybe even a little theatrical, but if anyone can make that work without it feeling over the top, it’s those two.

Morgan Wallen x Dua Lipa

This would be chaos – but in a way that actually makes sense. Wallen’s already flirting with pop whether people admit it or not, and Dua Lipa knows exactly how to build something that sticks. The key would be keeping it simple and not overthinking the crossover. If they got that balance right, it could be one of those songs that lives everywhere for a while.

Zach Bryan x Megan Moroney

This one works because they’re basically opposites. Zach leans raw, stripped-back, almost unpolished at times, while Megan’s got that cleaner, melodic style – and even visually it lines up that way. Her whole pink, polished vibe against his more rustic energy.

Put those two together and you’ve got something with actual tension to it, which is usually where the best duets land. It wouldn’t need to be huge either – just something honest that lets that contrast do the work.

Kacey Musgraves x Sabrina Carpenter

This feels like a really clean crossover. Kacey’s got that laid back, almost dreamy style, and Sabrina’s been leaning more into storytelling recently, so there’s a natural middle ground there. It wouldn’t be huge or dramatic – more something that just sits well and grows on people over time. One of those tracks you don’t realise you’ve had on repeat.

We’re definitely missing a few

That’s the thing with duets – the best ones are usually the ones no one saw coming. We’ve thrown a few out here that feel right, but there’s definitely better (and weirder) ones out there.
