BILL ANDERSON CELEBRATES 65th GRAND OLE OPRY ANNIVERSARY

Country music legend Bill Anderson celebrated his milestone 65th Opry anniversary over the weekend. Anderson was originally inducted to the Grand Ole Opry on July 15, 1961, and is the longest-serving member in Opry history. He is the first Opry member to reach a 65 year membership in the prestigious organization, and received a much-deserved celebration thrown in his honor. Friends and fellow members Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and Steve Wariner sent well wishes to the Country Music Hall of Famer throughout the evening, marking the monumental occasion even more incredible.

The Opry also surprised Anderson with a European cut diamond and Blue Sapphire ring, signifying 65 years of his enduring legacy.

“The Opry is the home of country music, and thankfully for 65 years now the show has been home to Whisperin’ Bill Anderson,” said Opry Executive Producer Dan Rogers. “We’re so thankful that through all the stages of his career—all the hits, all the songwriting successes, all the TV appearances, all the tour dates, and more, Bill has always come home to this Opry he loves. We’re so honored, we’re so proud, and we’re looking forward to the next 65.”

This celebration coincides with the Grand Ole Opry’s Summer of the Century series, marking 100 years of the iconic institution. Visit https://www.opry.com/summer-of-the-century for more information on upcoming events.
